May 3rd – we’re good to go!

Less than a week away from the ‘off’ and there are a million and one things to do – and probably twice as many that we’ve forgotten.

I’ve been interviewed by PeakFM, our local radio station, so if you’re in the Chesterfield area listen out for me making a total **** of myself on air over the weekend. The Derbyshire Times is also running our story on its website and in next week’s edition.

Riley Blue and crew will be in Chesterfield Market Place (near Boots) this Sunday, May 5th at 2:00 so do come and see us if you’re in the area.
We’ll also be at Chesterfield Royal Hospital on Saturday, May 11th at 10:00 and at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield the following day, from about 9:00. At Weston Park Hospital we shall be the first car away on the Buckingham Insurance Tally Ho Classic Tour, there will be 50+ other classic cars to see too.

Gleaming like a very gleaming thing!

Riley Blue has been washed, polished and waxed until it really gleams, some final mechanical and electrical bits and pieces have been sorted (thank you Steve McKie) and I’m giving the route a last check.

Gael is hard at work thinking about her LeJoG wardrobe (I may live to regret revealing that) whilst I’m pondering how big a box of spares to take – the more she adds, the more I have to leave behind (I’m in deep trouble now!)

Our thanks to all our supporters – don’t forget the ‘Guess The Distance’ competition, there are prizes for the closest answer!
Thanks too to PeakFM and the Derbyshire Times for promoting and supporting our cause and to the staff at Chesterfield Royal Hospital as whenever I have a meeting with them (like this morning) I never miss an opportunity to mention Riley Blue and our trip.

Stay tuned for further updates.
